Animal-Human photographer with passion
About me....
My name is Selma Knetemann and I am a 25-year-old trained druggist. In January 2022, I was promoted to Assistant Manager at the drugstore and it was around this time that I became more involved with photography. My passion for photography has been developing since I was a little girl. I used to "steal" my grandfather's camera and take lots of pictures. When I was 17 years old, I finally was able to get my own camera. From then on, I focused on not just snapping photos for fun but creating art through the lens of my camera. After taking multiple photography courses and thousands of photos, I knew that I wanted to dive headfirst into the art of photography. Growing up on a farm, I was surrounded by animals at a very young age. This has continued to be the case throughout my life. Animals play a significant, indispensable role in who I am.
... without fur on my clothes I'm not properly dressed...
... and not happy either.
While the fur may inconvenience some people, for me it serves as a reminder of home everywhere I go.
My cat Nala has been with me for a few years now. A year after her, the 2nd cat Zighidi came to us. My heart for animals also benefits me in my photography. With a lot of patience and without pressure, I take the time that each animal needs and notice when it is enough.

Now you have got a brief insight about me. I would be very happy to meet you and your animal companion at a photoshoot.
More about me....

mountains, food , family, friends , animals , nature, drawing, photography, beeing creative , hiking, cycling, travel

My cats, Nala (left) and Zighidi (right), are my everything. Nala is rather shy, reserved, and tends to hide from the camera. Zighidi is cheeky, curious, and up for anything! They are my two furry best friends - my cuddle partners and my comforters."
my principles
For me, the animal’s wellbeing comes first. To ensure animal welfare, I wish that our principles match. I will never ask for something that isn't in the animal's nature and I will never force it to do something that it doesn't want to. I also do not tolerate jerking (jerky pulling on the leash), slapping the leash, swearing, hitting, threatening, shaking the neck, pressing on the back to sit, excessive hardness - physcially and verbally etc. If I notice something along these lines, I will break off the shoot.
I prefer pet owners with a lot of patience, love and rewards in the form of "treats" and touches.
Your animal doesn't have to be able to present any tricks. Sitting down and (ideally) "stay" at a certain distance from you is especially beneficial for dogs, but not a "must".

Do you think so too? Wonderful! What are you waiting for? I would be happy to hear from you.
